Wood I-Joists, Medium
A floor structure made of wood I-joists covered with wood sheathing. Wood I-joists are installed parallel to each other and are used as a primary support in the floor system. Wood I-joists consist of lumber tops and bottoms (usually 2”x3”s) connected by a vertical piece of OSB (Oriented Strand Board). A common sized medium wood I-joist would be 2-1/2” wide and 14” deep.
Wood sheathing (typically OSB or plywood) is the structural member that sits flat on top of the wood I-joist. It provides additional structural rigidity by tying the wood I-joists together and provides an underlayment for the finished flooring to be installed upon.
Included in Cost: Wood I-joists, wood sheathing, fasteners, and installation labor.
